Teaching is a mission not a job. In all my life, i always keep my sentence in my mind. i have been teaching for about 27 years. during these days, i always care about bringing up my students politely and perfectly concerning their behavior. i used a traditional way by giving orders. i told my students to do so and so and not to do so and so. even in teaching i used a traditional way which is useless now.
once, a student refused to write in his/her notebook and wrote the lesson in his mobile. another student asked him to send it in a message. i was astonished for what was happening. i found myself facing new way of teaching, learning and responding to instructions. also when once of my students asked to teach them. i realized that everything is changing and i must change.
my mission should be different. now after two courses, how i change my learning through activities and fun.
I expect in this course to learn about school activities especially with the huge number of our students.

i believe "change" is an accurate keyword to use in life along with adaptation coz i do believe without them we would be still in the stone age :) so yes i do agree with you sahar and changing is essential reference to the fast pace of life we are facing these days
ReplyDeleteGreat to finally see your blog, Sahar! You did it. You have begun to communicate with others through your blog. Fantastic! I love that you have come to a realisation that you need to change. And you know what? Your students can help you to make that change. You need to be open to them being the teachers and showing you the way. Think of how engaging that would be for them! Ask them what they want to learn, how they want to learn it, and how they could help you and their classmates learn it using the technology. You are in for a great time! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteDeveloping one career is not an easy task and knowing that the mission becoming different is the first step.
ReplyDeleteIt`s the era of technology and our children are brought up in the digital age . So, why don`t we make them use technology in learning to increase their motivation ?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that teaching is a mission, and I think that when our professions done as missions that will help a lot. in other words, We need to love what we do and to believe strongly in its importance and to value it. If every teacher values his role in the community they live in, They will be motivated to make a change and appreciate their profession and carry it out as a mission.
